Aquarius Full Moon 2025

Happy Aquarius full moon!

The Latin translation for Aquarius is water carrier, you'll often hear this sign being referred to as the water bearer. now, we see a lot of imagery of Aquarius as a jug spilling forth water, yeah? But remember, it's an air sign. And how does air carry water from one place to another? The clouds!

The glyph for Aquarius is two lines stacked upon each other. Austin Coppock describes them as representing heaven and earth, paralleled but separate. We have our feet on the ground, experiencing the way that reality is; the way things are. And we look up to the sky to envision how things could be.

So there we have the idealism and intellect Aquarius is known for, right? But why does Aquarius yearn to be different?

…Is it because of a lived, even say traumatic, experience of how the system is broken?

…Or being socially shunned and having no choice but to create something new out of sheer survival?

…Or maybe having an excess amount of privilege, and with that privilege being able to lean into being eccentric and treating life as a sandbox experience.

There are many possibilities, but the common theme here is exclusion and rejection being the fundamental driving force behind that desire to change the status quo.

In traditional astrology, Aquarius is ruled by Saturn. So all of these things come with weight and responsibility to consider. When we don't take the time to unpack why we want to change things, and who we are truly changing them for, we risk becoming the perpetrator because we're still in the cycle we're trying to escape.

When our minds are reaching for something new, but our hearts and bodies continue to bear the unprocessed burden of the past, it can be difficult to create things that are stable.

So that may be something to chew on the rest of this weekend and into the week ahead. How are you meeting your needs right now? ARE you meeting your needs right now? How much does past exclusion and rejection fuel what you are creating in your present moment? Are you running from the past to avoid feeling? And what can you do to support where you're at right now.

stay safe and hydrated out there,

Ash
